Dean Papaliodis, MD, is an orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon and joint replacement surgeon at Texas Orthopaedic Associates. Serving the communities of Fort Worth and Keller, Texas, Dr. Papaliodis specializes in sports medicine injuries with an emphasis on arthroscopic and reconstructive management of the upper and lower extremities.

A Fort Worth native, Dr. Papaliodis attended Trinity Valley School for high school, then graduated Cum Laude from Texas Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He later went on to receive his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, before completing his orthopedics residency at Albany Medical College in New York, where he was named chief orthopedic resident.

Dr. Papaliodis has a special interest in cartilage injury and, after his fellowship training, spent time at the Harvard Cartilage Repair Center in Massachusetts learning advanced techniques in joint preservation. He is fellowship-trained in sports medicine from the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California.

Staying active in his field, Dr. Papaliodis has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and abstracts, and continues to present his research at national orthopedic meetings and conferences. He has affiliations with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine. He is an emerging leader in the American Orthopaedic Association.

Dr. Papaliodis has served as an assistant team physician and consultant to athletic teams such as the L.A. Lakers, L.A. Rams, L.A. Dodgers, L.A. Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and USC Trojans. He has also provided physician coverage for the PGA and Senior PGA tours.

Dr. Papaliodis speaks fluent Greek, and he has been known to lead amateur Greek and rock cover bands. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
