What to expect during the scheduled registration call:

Scheduling your registration call is the next step in your recovery process and you will NEED to do so at least 72 hours prior to your surgery. On this scheduled call, you will:

  • learn the PT Genie program in detail and how it benefits your recovery
  • walk through insurance benefits information
  • set up a test video call to ensure your technology is working properly
  • schedule your initial visit for a PT evaluation and follow up visits with a PTA

Once completed, you will be officially registered for the PT Genie program. Please reach out to the onboarding specialist and/or account manager if you have any questions or concerns.

Paul A. Nitz, MD

Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Paul A. Nitz has more than three decades of experience. His focus is on sports related injuries whether it be football, golf or TV remote, Dr. Nitz applies his extensive knowledge to end the pain, heal the injury and get you back in the game. He provides effective treatment using the latest procedures, including musculoskeletal laser and a variety of arthroscopic techniques.

Although he specializes in injuries that affect knee and shoulder joints, Dr. Nitz has treated numerous conditions that involve every type of joint, bone, tendon, ligament, muscle, and nerve. He believes in the importance of making the diagnosis and then recommending appropriate treatment based on the natural history of that diagnosis as well as the patient’s symptoms and goals.

Dr. Nitz learned many complex procedures from the specialized fellowship training in sports medicine that he received from Dr. Donald Shelbourne, team physician for the Indianapolis Colts and an orthopedic consultant to Purdue University. He has been honored for his sports medicine expertise by being chosen for the Hall of Fame of Central University’s athletic department and Ohio High School Team Physician of the Year.

Dr. Nitz has access to the most advanced imaging technology and serves patients at various office locations and Sycamore Hospital and Greater Dayton Surgery Center.

Laura Walker, PTA, BS, CHC

Laura is a Physical Therapist Assistant, Health and Wellness coach with more than 18 years of experience working with patients/clients to assist with their overall health and well-being. Laura graduated in 2004 from the PTA program at Broward College and went back to school and obtained her BS in Health and Wellness in 2018.

Laura was born and raised in Naples, Florida and now resides in Central Florida, where she raises her two children with her husband Greg. In her free time, she enjoys anything outdoors, is an avid fitness enthusiast and strives to make every day to be better than yesterday.

Shannon Ross

Onboarding Specialist, Orthopaedic Institute of Dayton

With over 10 years of medical office experience, Shannon committed her time to Physical Therapy offices in the Orlando Metro area. With Shannon’s aspiration to provide quality, low-cost medical services to those in need, sometimes even in the comforts of their own home, her affiliation with PT Genie is a genuine connection built to last. Shannon presents herself as a multi-talented individual splitting her off time with her family and providing quality Ultrasound studies to underprivileged communities. Shannon is a married mother of 5 not including her 3 fur babies. She is a coaster enthusiast and loves to visit different amusement parks with her family. Shannon has a sincere passion for helping others and truly loves to see the strength and growth of the provider/patient connection. 

Syeda Sherazi

Onboarding Specialist, Orthopaedic Institute of Dayton

With experience working in physical therapy and multidisciplinary offices as a medical receptionist and PT Aide, Syeda has learned a great deal from many people of different backgrounds, helping her to provide the best care possible for patients. Syeda has multiple professional certifications including CITI Program (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) and HSR (Human Subject Research) Certified. She is currently in school for Health Information Management. 

Outside of work Syeda is a published poet in the American Library of Poetry. She enjoys playing brain stimulating games, yoga and meditation, and exploring different nature preserves. 

Michelle Rosario

Onboarding Specialist, Orthopaedic Institute of Dayton

Michelle has been working in medical offices for 6 years and has a passion for helping and talking to people. Whether it be to schedule them for an appointment or just inform them of anything they need to know, she loves getting to know their story and making sure they get the best care possible. 

In her free time, Michelle loves spending time with her 4 year old daughter and 11 year old son. They enjoy going to football games together, shopping and taking walks.
