Reuben Gobezie

Reuben Gobezie, MD

CEO & Co-Founder

A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Reuben Gobezie, MD, serves as the Founder and Director of the Gobezie Shoulder Institute and Regen Orthopedics. His innovative techniques within advanced arthroscopic surgery, open surgeries, and scientifically proven post-op care rank him as one of the top 25 Orthopedic Surgeons in the US. As a specialist in shoulder care, Dr. Gobezie has received the NEER Award, was elected into the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons society, and frequently lectures for students and professionals.

Patient care and satisfaction lead his motivation to develop the critical components of Genie Health. Passionate for community and quality of life, Dr. Gobezie seeks to help colleagues improve their long-term relationships with patients, physical therapists’ interactions and personalizations for at-home care, and ultimately patient success.

As a husband, father, surgeon, and business owner, Dr. Gobezie brings a personal touch to all he does.

Laurence Higgins

Laurence Higgins, MD, MBA

President & Co-Founder

Laurence Higgins, MD, consistently strives to uncover new methods to benefit his patients and raise cost-effectiveness for providing practices. His methodologies created the firm foundation of PT Genie, which serves to promote practitioner-patient relationships.

An interest in Outcomes Research influences many fields, ranging from women’s health, sports medicine, shoulder specializations, and peer-reviewed publications to revolutionize patient care possibilities.

Additionally, Dr. Higgens serves as Vice President of Strategic Development for Arthrex, the Head of Sports Medicine for the Duke Blue Devils basketball team, and founded the Surgical Center for Outcomes Research at Duke University.

Tim Hedke

Tim Hedke, MBA

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operations Officer

Providing a unique and valuable perspective to Genie Health, Tim Hedke ensures operational and business needs are aligned and within financial boundaries.

Striving to maximize opportunities and stakeholder return, Tim brings unity to team members and departments throughout the company. He shows investment with Technology, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing with a central focus on client success and business success.

With a B.S. degree in Accounting from UCF and a Master’s in Business Administration from one of the top 50 MBA Programs countrywide Crummer School of Business at Rollins College, he utilizes data-driven tactics and strategies to propel Genie Health forward.
Ben Galin

Ben Galin, DPT

Vice President of Strategy

Focusing on Genie Health’s overarching business strategy, Ben helps oversee company and product direction. Ben also works with partnerships through various healthcare providers and associations.

By bringing focus to all business areas, Ben helps the company continuously align with the ever-changing environment. Dr. Galin’s expertise ensures the mission of Genie Health reflects through the products design, functions, and exposure.

With more than 20 years of experience with Physical Therapy and Healthcare, more than 10 years of product strategy and product oversight with healthcare software and technology, he applies his collective knowledge to help Genie Health serve the community best.

Yousef Shishani, MD

Clinical Director

Yousef Shishani, MD, focuses on the science behind enhancing patient care to Genie Health. His work has significantly impacted research through his peer-reviewed articles, investigative practice, and international presentations of his projects.

Working alongside Dr. Gobezie for more than ten years, Yousef’s commitment to providing the best care plans for practices and patients stands strong.

Dr. Shishani supervises patient and clinical care activities, including monitoring provider services and coordinating clinical and physical therapy teams. He strives to revolutionize remote patient monitoring possibilities and its relation to the patients’ overall satisfaction.

In 2023 his pursuit of excellence continued as he earned his credentials from The American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (ABAIM), the authoritative body for medical AI education and certification. These credentials provide him expertise in the data-to-intelligence continuum, healthcare data and databases, machine learning, convolutional neural networks and the ethics of AI.

Patrick Wilkens, DPT

Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships

Patrick Wilkens, DPT, works to discover new partnership opportunities and grow Genie Health’s existing relationships as it continues to expand into new verticals.

An expert in digital health solutions and clinical insight, Wilkens has a long history of building strong, trusting relationships with large health systems, payors, and healthcare organizations. Coming equipped with a diversity of professional experience, from public and private healthcare management to digital health start-up founder, Wilkens has consistently built cohesive, high-performance teams focused on driving engagement and achieving client success.

Wilkens attended Boston University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Studies, and his master’s and doctorate in Physical Therapy. He can be reached at pwilkens@genie.health.

Jaime Koebernick, MBA, PTA

Clinical Operations Manager

Jaime oversees clinical operations for all active and new client practices being onboarded with Genie Health. Jaime provides a seamless onboarding process for new clients by creating a custom workflow and maintaining open communication with all parties to ensure consistency. She is the main point of contact for all clinics to address any questions or concerns.

Jaime conducts recruitment, hiring, and oversees the training of personnel to ensure the candidates are a good fit for the client’s practice. She develops and implements organizational policies and procedures for Genie Health that will correlate to outstanding patient care and client satisfaction.
