What to expect during the scheduled registration call:

Scheduling your registration call is the next step in your recovery process and you will NEED to do so at least 72 hours prior to your surgery. On this scheduled call, you will:

  • learn the PT Genie program in detail and how it benefits your recovery
  • walk through insurance benefits information
  • set up a test video call to ensure your technology is working properly
  • schedule your initial visit for a PT evaluation and follow up visits with a PTA

Once completed, you will be officially registered for the PT Genie program. Please reach out to the onboarding specialist and/or account manager if you have any questions or concerns.

Randy Schwartzberg, M.D.

After growing up in South Florida, Dr. Schwartzberg attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate education. He earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Schwartzberg completed his orthopedic surgery residency in Orlando.
Following his residency program, Dr. Schwartzberg pursued his subspecialty interests in sports medicine and engaged in sports medicine training at the esteemed American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. His extensive training served as a strong platform to infuse his sports medicine enthusiasm and skills into the Central Florida area.
Since beginning his practice of orthopedics, Dr. Schwartzberg has become extensively involved in the sports medicine scene of Central Florida. He serves as a Sports Medicine Director for the United States Tennis Association (USTA). He works as a team physician for Embry- Riddle University, Bethune Cookman University and Cirque du Soleil, Drawn to Life. In addition, he expresses his passion for amateur athletics through his service to many local high schools and amateur sports clubs. Concordantly, Dr. Schwartzberg serves as a team physician for numerous high schools including Oviedo HS, Winter Springs HS, Apopka HS, Boone HS, Cypress Creek HS, University HS, Timber Creek HS, Oak Ridge HS, East River HS, Hagerty HS, Trinity Prep HS, Lake Brantley HS, Lyman HS and Lake Howell HS. On a broader scale, Dr. Schwartzberg was appointed to the State of Florida Board of Athletic Training in 2013 and was reappointed in 2021. Further, he has served as a sports medicine consultant for Major League Soccer and NFL Europe. He has also served as the Medical Director for the annual college football East-West Shrine Game and the ESPN Wide World of Sports. He has also served on the NFL Neutral Physician Panel and as a team physician for the Orlando Predators, Seminole State College and Cirque du Soleil, La Nouba.
To aid the central Florida community further, Dr. Schwartzberg helped found the Orlando Orthopaedic Center Foundation in 2012. He serves as president for this foundation that aids at risk and financially disadvantaged athletes in numerous ways.
For his contributions, The Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida gave Dr. Schwartzberg their Sports Medicine Person of the Year Award for 2000 and then made him an Honorary Member in 2005. Dr. Schwartzberg was awarded Honorary Member in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association in 2010 and was awarded the Jack Hughston Sports Medicine Person of the Year by the Southeastern Athletic Trainers’ Association in 2014.
Dr. Schwartzberg’s commitment to sports medicine extends into academics. He is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedics for the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Schwartzberg gives educational talks to other health care professionals and teaches advanced arthroscopic surgery skills to practicing orthopedic surgeons. He has published literature in orthopedics and sports medicine and continues to develop and work on research projects.

Dr. Schwartzberg is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association and The Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. He specializes in sports medicine and injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow.

Sophia Davis, D.O.

After being born and living in South Africa for 12 years, Dr. Davis’ family moved to the Orlando area. While growing up in Orlando, she competed in cross country and track and field with the Central Florida Gliders and at Bishop Moore High School.

Dr. Davis continued competitive running while she attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry. She completed her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL.

Ravi Patel, M.D. – Spine

A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Patel earned his B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University as part of the accelerated Pre-Medical/Medical Program. He obtained his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated with cum laude honors and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Dr. Patel completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Emory University Clinic and Hospitals in Atlanta, GA. He then completed a spine surgery fellowship at the Harvard Combined Spine Program in Boston, MA. He served as associate surgeon at Harvard Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition, Dr. Patel visited Beijing, China, for an international spine surgery observership at Peking University Third People’s Hospital.
Prior to joining Orlando Orthopaedic Center, Dr. Patel worked as a staff physician and spinal surgeon in Newport Beach, CA. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters. He is an active member of many professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.

Outside of his professional career, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling, running, racquet sports, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Van Dyke was honored by the faculty at Tulane by being selected the “super” chief resident in 2004-2005.
After residency, Dr. Van Dyke returned to Orlando in 2005 to pursue his passions: God, family, and of course, orthopaedic surgery. His wife, Stephanie, is also a native of Orlando, and they have the privilege and honor of raising 4 children.
Dr. Van Dyke is an active member of the Orlando community. He was previously the team physician for Edgewater High School and is currently the team physician for South Orlando Soccer Club. He also volunteers his time to Blanker School as well as the Arnold Palmer PGA tour event. Dr. Van Dyke serves on the Orlando Health Medical Economics Outcomes Committee for Orthopaedics and has hospital and surgical privileges in the Orlando Health system of hospitals, Sand Lake Surgery Center, and Orlando Orthopaedic Outpatient Surgery Center.

Michael D. Riggenbach, M.D.

Dr. Riggenbach attended the University of Dayton where he majored in exercise science and worked as an assistant strength coach for the Dayton Flyers athletic department. It was there where he developed his interest in the musculoskeletal system. He graduated summa cum laude, and won several academic awards. He remained in Dayton, Ohio attending the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University where he became involved with orthopaedic surgery.

Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Riggenbach completed his residency at the Ohio State University Medical Center. His interest in hand surgery began during long nights in the emergency room, caring for patients with hand injuries. This interest propelled him into a hand/upper extremity fellowship at the University of Florida Department of Orthopaedics. He then traveled to Singapore where he spent time at the National University Hospital’s Department of Hand and Microsurgery where he gained an international perspective on hand and microsurgery and the components that make Singapore a top five healthcare system in the world.

Dr. Riggenbach specializes in operative and non-operative management of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder for adults and children. He is a member of the American Society for the Surgery of the Hand and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Syeda Sherazi

Onboarding Specialist, Orlando Orthopaedic Center

With experience working in physical therapy and multidisciplinary offices as a medical receptionist and PT Aide, Syeda has learned a great deal from many people of different backgrounds, helping her to provide the best care possible for patients. Syeda has multiple professional certifications including CITI Program (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) and HSR (Human Subject Research) Certified. She is currently in school for Health Information Management. 

Outside of work Syeda is a published poet in the American Library of Poetry. She enjoys playing brain stimulating games, yoga and meditation, and exploring different nature preserves. 

Shannon Ross

Onboarding Specialist, Orlando Orthopaedic Center

With over 10 years of medical office experience, Shannon committed her time to Physical Therapy offices in the Orlando Metro area. With Shannon’s aspiration to provide quality, low-cost medical services to those in need, sometimes even in the comforts of their own home, her affiliation with PT Genie is a genuine connection built to last. Shannon presents herself as a multi-talented individual splitting her off time with her family and providing quality Ultrasound studies to underprivileged communities. Shannon is a married mother of 5 not including her 3 fur babies. She is a coaster enthusiast and loves to visit different amusement parks with her family. Shannon has a sincere passion for helping others and truly loves to see the strength and growth of the provider/patient connection. 

Michelle Rosario

Onboarding Specialist, Orlando Orthopaedic Center

Michelle has been working in medical offices for 6 years and has a passion for helping and talking to people. Whether it be to schedule them for an appointment or just inform them of anything they need to know, she loves getting to know their story and making sure they get the best care possible. 

In her free time, Michelle loves spending time with her 4 year old daughter and 11 year old son. They enjoy going to football games together, shopping and taking walks. 

Samantha Brown

Samantha Brown, PTA, CSCS 

Rehab Specialist, Orlando Orthopaedic Center

Samantha has been working in the physical therapy field since 2013. Before joining Genie Health, she worked for six years as an exercise physiologist and four years as a PTA in an outpatient orthopedic clinic. She loves getting to know her patients and helping them get back to their passions in life. She also enjoys seeing her patients make progress whether the improvements are big or small. Samantha is there to help patients understand their protocols and the rehab process. She specializes in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine recovery and really enjoys helping athletes of all ages get back to what they love doing. Samantha is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. In her free time, she is a competitive equestrian. When she is not training with her horse, Z, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, playing golf and spending time with her husband and dog, Bailey. 

Laura Walker, PTA, BS, CHC

Rehab Specialist, Orlando Orthopaedic Center

Laura is a Physical Therapist Assistant, Health and Wellness coach with more than 18 years of experience working with patients/clients to assist with their overall health and well-being. Laura graduated in 2004 from the PTA program at Broward College and went back to school and obtained her BS in Health and Wellness in 2018.

Laura was born and raised in Naples, Florida and now resides in Central Florida, where she raises her two children with her husband Greg. In her free time, she enjoys anything outdoors, is an avid fitness enthusiast and strives everyday to be better than yesterday.
