What to expect during the scheduled registration call:

Scheduling your registration call is the next step in your recovery process and you will NEED to do so at least 72 hours prior to your surgery. On this scheduled call, you will:

  • learn the PT Genie program in detail and how it benefits your recovery
  • walk through insurance benefits information
  • set up a test video call to ensure your technology is working properly
  • schedule your initial visit for a PT evaluation and follow up visits with a PTA

Once completed, you will be officially registered for the PT Genie program. Please reach out to the onboarding specialist and/or account manager if you have any questions or concerns.

Steve Vaughn, BSHA, PTA

Account Manager at PT Genie, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

Steve graduated with his associate’s degree and began his career in physical therapy as a physical therapist assistant in 2016. He spent six years working in an outpatient orthopedic setting before obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration. While he transitions into a role outside of direct patient care, his experience, combined with his passion for health and fitness will continue to benefit patients.

Outside of work, Steve leads a very active life. From hiking and cycling in the warmer months to snowboarding in the winter, he will never turn down an opportunity for an adventure.

Samantha Brown

Samantha Brown, PTA, CSCS

Rehab Specialist at PT Genie, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

Samantha has been working in the physical therapy field since 2013. Before joining Genie Health, she worked for six years as an exercise physiologist and four years as a PTA in an outpatient orthopedic clinic. She loves getting to know her patients and helping them get back to their passions in life. She also enjoys seeing her patients make progress whether the improvements are big or small. Samantha is there to help patients understand their protocols and the rehab process. She specializes in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine recovery and really enjoys helping athletes of all ages get back to what they love doing. Samantha is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. In her free time, she is a competitive equestrian. When she is not training with her horse, Z, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, playing golf and spending time with her husband and dog, Bailey. 

Nikki DeJean, ATC

Rehab Specialist at PT Genie, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

Nikki graduated from Letourneau University with a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology degree and earned her Master’s in Athletic Training at Stephen F. Austin State University. Nikki began working as a Rehab Specialist at Texas Orthopedic Associates in 2021. Nikki enjoys helping patients at Texas Orthopedic Associates achieve their rehabilitation goals.

She is an avid health enthusiast and loves a good game of basketball. She hopes to continue to grow and learn new ways of helping the PT Genie patients.

Brad Kresge, PT  Supervisor

Brad graduated from Misericordia University in 2004 with his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. He has had the pleasure of working in many different therapy settings over the course of his 18 years as a Physical Therapist, including Acute Care, Skilled Nursing, and Outpatient Physical Therapy.
Brad spent 9 years in the Dallas area working for the Baylor Scott and White Health Care System, prior to hitting the road for full time travel in 2019 with his family of 5. During this time he and his family started Prodigal Overland, an off roading business and YouTube channel.
Most recently, Brad and his family have settled down in the Asheville area of North Carolina in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Caroline Devault, PT, DPT

Caroline DeVault Graduated from Slippery Rock University with both her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and later her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She has been working in outpatient orthopedic clinics since graduating in 2014. Caroline has enjoyed helping patients get back to doing what they love through her passion for orthopedics and the growing teletherapy field.
Outside of work, Caroline enjoys time outdoors with family as well as traveling in her off time.

Jonathan Michaels PT, DPT 

Physical Therapist, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

Jonathan Michaels has been working as a PT for 7 years with a vast array of experience including general health, orthopedics, home health, wellness, and telehealth. With a lifelong passion for functional movement, psychology, physiology, and yoga, he enjoys being the bridge between a person and their goals. He has many professional achievements, including building and scaling a telehealth department to serve underserviced demographics. 

Kelsey Downing, PT 

Physical Therapist, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

Kelsey Downing earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Campbell University in North Carolina in 2016. Since graduating she has worked in a variety of settings from acute care to outpatient orthopedics and has extensive experience with post-operative patients. Kelsey continues to further her knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation through multiple continuing education courses through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) and Functional Movement Systems (FMS).  

While originally from the Washington, DC area she has lived across 12 states in the US (even Hawaii), and is currently residing in Tennessee. She loves to travel and spend time outdoors with a particular love for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, and skiing. Kelsey has also lived in Taos and is very familiar with its vibrant spirit and community. She continues to spend her winters in Taos to take advantage of the amazing skiing. She is very excited to continue to serve the Taos community from afar. 

Karissa Solomon PT, DPT

Physical Therapist, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

Karissa Solomon has been working as a physical therapist in the orthopedic, pediatrics, skilled nursing facility, long term care and assisted living facility settings since 2010. With special interest in orthopedics and sports medicine Karissa has a passion for being an integral part of the patient recovery process. Helping patients overcome feelings of helplessness and defeat from an injury and getting them back to optimal function and restoring their quality of life brings her great satisfaction. She works diligently to address each patient’s individual physical and functional needs with their goals, lifestyle, and personal interests in mind. She enjoys traveling, running, sports, hiking, spending time with my family, chocolate chip cookies and playing guitar.  

Syeda Sherazi

Onboarding Specialist, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

With experience working in physical therapy and multidisciplinary offices as a medical receptionist and PT Aide, Syeda has learned a great deal from many people of different backgrounds, helping her to provide the best care possible for patients. Syeda has multiple professional certifications including CITI Program (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) and HSR (Human Subject Research) Certified. She is currently in school for Health Information Management. 

Outside of work Syeda is a published poet in the American Library of Poetry. She enjoys playing brain stimulating games, yoga and meditation, and exploring different nature preserves. 

Shannon Ross

Onboarding Specialist, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

With over 10 years of medical office experience, Shannon committed her time to Physical Therapy offices in the Orlando Metro area. With Shannon’s aspiration to provide quality, low-cost medical services to those in need, sometimes even in the comforts of their own home, her affiliation with PT Genie is a genuine connection built to last. Shannon presents herself as a multi-talented individual splitting her off time with her family and providing quality Ultrasound studies to underprivileged communities. Shannon is a married mother of 5 not including her 3 fur babies. She is a coaster enthusiast and loves to visit different amusement parks with her family. Shannon has a sincere passion for helping others and truly loves to see the strength and growth of the provider/patient connection.

Michelle Rosario

Onboarding Specialist, Texas Orthopaedic Associates

Michelle has been working in medical offices for 6 years and has a passion for helping and talking to people. Whether it be to schedule them for an appointment or just inform them of anything they need to know, she loves getting to know their story and making sure they get the best care possible. 

In her free time, Michelle loves spending time with her 4 year old daughter and 11 year old son. They enjoy going to football games together, shopping and taking walks.
