He is the co-author of two textbooks on shoulder surgery: “The Cowboy’’s Companion: A Trail Guide for the Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgeon” and “The Cowboy’s Conundrum: Complex and Advanced Cases in Shoulder Arthroscopy”. These books provide step-by-step instructions and tips and tricks for successful outcomes for orthopedic surgeons performing shoulder surgery. “I love being a shoulder specialist and have had the pleasure of taking care of people with a variety of shoulder problems from all over Southern Oregon and Northern California. I want to provide the highest level of shoulder care possible for my patients. I stay up-to-date on the latest research so that my patients get the best that is currently available in shoulder care. Whether through nonoperative means or surgery, my goal is to help my patients understand their condition and get them using their shoulder again. If you have shoulder pain, we will work together to the best of our ability to make you better.” Outside of work Dr. Denard enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing golf, and being a part of the local community.

His emphasis on data-driven advanced techniques for shoulder replacement have continued to yield exemplary results for countless satisfied patients.

Dr. Phillips prides himself in a measured, multi-disciplinary approach to shoulder treatment. His treatment plans will often incorporate both non-surgical and surgical plans to optimize one’s shoulder function and full potential. My approach to shoulder and elbow conditions is comprehensive—listening carefully to my patients’ concerns and then using the latest surgical and non-surgical techniques to provide the best care Sports Medicine has to offer. Whether I am treating an elite professional athlete working to get back out on the field, or a retiree simply seeking to enjoy their daily routine without pain, I am dedicated to working closely with every patient through each step of improvement.
